Shawnee Hills Pool
Shawnee Hills Swimming Pool on Dublin Road south of Reindeer Drive was built in 1930 at a cost of over $30,000. Olympic gold medal swimmer Johnny Weissmuller was featured at the opening in July of that year. Admission to the pool was 25 cents for children and 35 cents for adults. In its heyday there was live music, usually provided by a rock band. Over the years, there were many changes in management. Sadly, the pool closed in 1970 and was razed in 1990.
