The Powell Depot
The Powell Depot was located on W. Olentagy St. and sat on the west side of the railroad tracks, not on Depot St. as many assume. In 1877, the Columbus and Toledo Railroad completed a line to Powell. It became the Columbus, Hocking Valley, and Toledo Railroad in 1881. The building was retired by the C&O in 1961 and torn down later that decade.

The Powell Depot was part of the Hocking Valley Railroad, later the , The first depot was built in 1876 and replaced in 1893 with the version shown in the picture above. It was remodeled several times and retired October 24, 1961.
