Summary

Dr. Kreger took us back almost 100 years when the Wolfe family first provided a home for a few reindeer, Little did they know then that this small reindeer haven would grow into a prominent zoo with more than 600 species it houses today. Along this virtual historic journey many Zoo milestones were highlighted, like the birth and death of Colo, and the establishment of several exhibits that we enjoy visiting today. Over the years the Columbus Zoo has progressively marched forward to gain an international reputation for excellence in animal care, conservation, and education. A gem in our own backyard for sure.
