Summary
On Valentine's Day Gretchen Cutis treated us to an entertaining program, "For the Love of Chocolate". What better day to celebrate chocolate than on this special day? She discussed the history of chocolate, where and how it is grown and harvested, its introduction as a treat for the wealthy and how it became more widely distributed for the enjoyment of people around the globe. Throughout the presentation words of wisdom related to chocolate, samples of chocolate advertisements and how to maximize the health benefits of chocolate made us smile. Whether one of those who eats chocolate every day or only occasionally, by the end of the program, a new appreciation for chocolate was gained by all. To top it off, Gretchen encouraged us to try our own "taste testing" based on the percentage of cocoa butter. A yummy challenge indeed.
