Title
Early Survey of Ohio
Presenter
Joe Forte
Date/Time
2/16/2027 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Summary
In the years following the American Revolution, the vast lands north and west of the Ohio River represented both opportunity and uncertainty. Before farms could be established, towns laid out, or land sold to settlers, surveyors had to venture into an unmapped wilderness to measure and divide the territory. This presentation explores the methods, tools, and hardships faced by the men who surveyed the Ohio Country in the late 1700s.
