First Post Office established with help from Judge Thomas Powell of Delaware

Hall's Corner renamed Powell

Towns of Powell and Hyattsville are platted
1877
Columbus and Toledo Railroad begins service
1889
Martin-Perry House is built (later becomes Historical Society headquarters
1947
Powell is incorporated into a municipality
1948
Liberty Township establishes a volunteer fire department
1986
Powell Liberty Historical Society is formed

Powell reaches City status
