Charles and Elizabeth Rittenhouse 59th Anniversary Photo
This is a picture of the 50th wedding anniversary celebration of Charles and Elizabeth Rittenhouse (my GG-grandparents on my Mom's side), August 13, 1932. It was taken at the Rittenhouse farm on Home Rd. Charles is the man in the center with the beard, and Elizabeth sits next to him. Immediately behind him is Ethel Rittenhouse Macomber, my Great-grandmother, and Great-grandfather Alva P. Macomber next to her. My mom, Betty Macomber, sits at Charles's right knee, the small boy in front of Elizabeth is Philip Macomber, Mom's first cousin, the son of Donald and Lillian. He was a professor of communications at Kent State University. On Ethel's right side is her daughter, my great aunt Beatrice; the man next to her is Vernon Whitaker, Beatrice's first husband. Next to Vernon on the other side is my great aunt Lillian, who stands with her husband, my great uncle Donald (Phillip's parents). My grandfather, Stanley, is not pictured. I believe, but cannot confirm, that the people are organized with Taylor relatives on Elizabeth's left (photo right) and Rittenhouse relatives on Charles's right (photo left). All the Macombers are either directly behind Charles and Elizabeth or directly in front of them.
