This is believed to be the site of Joshua Pennell’s store in the 1860’s. Later, Cyrus Mason ran a mercantile business in the building. In 1892, Henry Sharp became owner, with Julian Sharp and Don Canfield began their hardware business in 1921. It continued as a hardware store with newer owners through the 1960’s and 70’s, and finished its run as an antique store.
