  • 1801 · First settlers arrive in Liberty Township
  • 1813 · Middlebury becomes a pioneer settlement
  • 1850 · Middlebury becomes Hall's Corner
  • 1857 · First Post Office established with help from
               Judge Thomas Powell of Delaware
  • 1857 · Hall's Corner renamed Powell
  • 1876 · Towns of Powell and Hyattsville are platted
  • 1877 · Columbus and Toledo Railroad begins service
  • 1889 · Martin-Perry House is built (later becomes
               Historical Society headquarters)
  • 1947 · Powell is incorporated into a municipality
  • 1948 · Liberty Township establishes a volunteer fire
               department
  • 1986 · Powell Liberty Historical Society is formed
  • 2000 · Powell reaches City status
