  • November 10, 2014 7:00 pm - Beth Weinhardt: "Drying Up America: The Impact of a Small Central Ohio Village." Weinhardt is coordinator of the Anti-Saloon League Museum in Westerville. She will discuss the importance of the League in the battle to ban alcohol from the country and share items they printed in Westerville. She will also talk about the Ken Burns' "Prohibition" documentary, the research assistance they provided, and his visit to the Museum.

  • December 10, 2012 - The Martin-Perry house was open for tours and festooned with old fashioned decorations and toys as it was when the Martin and Perry families celebrated Christmas.
  • November 12, 2012 - David Martin let us in on how to write a 700 page Family Genealogy Book.
  • October 8, 2012 - T.K. Cellar shared information about his family who were early pioneers in Liberty Township.
  • September 10, 2012 - Robin Mayes of Delaware County's Preservation Parks discussed the "new' 1930s home at Gallant Farm Preserve.
  • August 13, 2012 - Walking Tour of Downtown Powell at 7 pm.
  • July 9, 2012 - Susan Van Der Weele, a board member for Dublin's Davis Cemetery, spoke about the cemetery.
  • May 14, 2012 - Jerry Borin, Retired Executive Director of The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium presented a program about the Zoo's history.
  • April 9, 2012 - John Snouffer shared his experiences as a re-enactor at the Ohio Historical Center's Ohio Village.
  • March 12, 2012 - Mike Frush, Chair of the Archives and Exhibits Committee for the Columbus Historical Society, presented Columbus Celebrates Its Bicentennial.


  • Educational Programs
    Volunteers offer specific programs for local schools and participate in the Olentangy Local School Elementary's Pioneer Day in the spring.
    Speakers are available to give presentations in the community. They are:
    • From Your Valentine - The history of Victorian valentines including a collection of cards
    • The People of Powell: Featuring 200 years of settlers, store keepers, doctors, teachers, historians and other good people
